Okay - I love that you say strive for a C-. I have told my team here at work on many occasions when we are prioritizing tasks that we don't need to aim for A work for every single thing because we must prioritize! There are some things that you just need to get that "shit done" and it does not need to be an A. Better to get it moving than not do anything at all. I certainly like this thought process for writing.

Yes! I think striving for a C- works for almost everything. Or, if you really wanna get things moving, be like me in high school chemistry and go for an F!

Love the comment about high school chemistry. I was right alongside you. Many times, in life you just have to "F it!"

Wow!! This is an awesome approach & definitely a way for me to dumb it down! Ha. I was the one who couldn’t start writing because I thought my punctuation had to be perfect & all the parts of the sentences needed to be correct. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I would absolutely pay better attention in school if I could go back & start all over. I’m sure I can find an English for dummies on Amazon. 😂

I think I’ll take this C- approach to sorting my twenty some years of printed photos & just dive in with a lower expectation of myself.

Tina, You have just made my life a lot easier!! 😉

Ha! Glad to have helped. Do not let punctuation/grammar stop you—there are so many easy ways to correct those things now. I use 'em too! (Check out Grammarly if you've never used it.) The pics, though? Oof. That's daunting. Go for an F!

Thanks for this kick in the pants. People are out there happily doing a half-ass job at what I’m waiting to start doing until I’m magically ready. My challenge: trying to retrain my brain for C- work after leaving medicine as a profession where good enough was not an option!

Whoa—haha! Yeah, I definitely do not want my doctors shooting for a C-! Yikes. K, now I have to be nosy: what did you used to do, and what are you up to now?

Pediatrics for 20+ years (mostly peds urgent care.) Just finished my Parenting Coach Certification so I can help families in a different way! I’m dragging my feet on launching my coaching biz because I don’t know how to launch a biz…LLC, website, scheduling, payments, etc. I do know I just need to take one C- step at a time. Good enough is good enough in this field. In fact, that’s a theme of parent coaching- you don’t have to be a perfect parent (in fact it’s way better for everyone to just be authentically imperfect, admit it, & repair with your kids along the way!)

Whoa, what a super-cool pivot that is. And yes, launching your own biz is a lot—I still go into a fetal position every year at tax time. You sound like an amazing coach already, wish I hadn't already raised my 20 y.o. son PERFECTLY hahahloljkcanyouimagine or I would call on you. Congrats!

Tina I took your journaling class through Ginger’s group. Thank you! All of your words still pop into my head when I am journaling now. My handwriting is horrible. I have trained myself to never reread it. Why go through the trauma twice, right. It doesn’t have to be life changing deep words. All of this has helped me stopped trying to make it perfect. I was actually a C student all through school so who knew how beneficial that would be for me! Shout out to all us nonvaldictorians! Just wanted you to know you made a difference! You still make me laugh😂

Wendee, you crack me up. How could I forget you??? Your handwriting *should* be horrible! (Remember the award I gave out?) Sounds like you have it down. Proud of you! And listen, I was not an A student either. We can't be cool AND smart, can we? I mean, c'mon.
