What a great story. It’s nice to put a face with an actual Hallmark card writer.

Thanks CK! It's a fun and bizarre and fascinating job, for sure.

To be fair, Dave was a douchebag. I remember. Pepperidge Farms remembers.

My fav (and still on my shelf in my office):

'Taco knows how long it's been since you washed that bra your wearing.'

Taco = my cat (for those playing along at home)

I am dying at the Pepperidge Farms mention. Nice. Memory unlocked!

What strikes me the most is that at such a young age, you said no to the original offer at Hallmark and told them what you really want to do - write greeting cards. There is a lesson here for all of us. Stay true to yourself and do what will give you more joy.

Would love to hear yours sometime! I only remember the first time we came to blows over "Inception."
